Editor's Note: Project Insights and Italian Revelry

Last week we watched in awe as M/Y and S/Y 'A' became acquainted off the coast of Monaco... This week the news took an unexpected turn to the Mediterranean coastline of Italy where a delivery in Pisa and anticipation for the Versilia Yachting Rendezvous has helped us pay homage to some Italian greats.

First up in our ode to Italia is our rapidly developing Interior Insights series, which takes a look at one of many masterpieces emerging from the Luxury Projects portfolio. With owner Laura Pomponi driving an elegant force of designers to produce some of the most intricate interiors on the ocean, we delve inside the newly updated Heesen, 34m Destiny.

Sticking with style, earlier this week we saw the latest launch from Mangusta into the waters of Pisa. The second in the Oceano 42 series designed by Alberto Mancini hails as a staple of Italian sophistication; one that we can't wait to see more of on the water this summer. Elsewhere, in Finland we watched as Nautor Swan's 'Lot 99' launch presented an unparalleled combination of sailing excellence and soft beauty.

We also celebrated another Italian icon with thanks to stunning new images courtesy of TWW Yachts. Launched in 2003, 62m Apogee is an in-house Codecasa build and design from one of the oldest Italy-based and family-owned shipyards. You can take a closer look at her finer features in this week's Superyacht in Focus article.

Across the pond from our European friends, we begin our Postcards feature, which sees La Dea II explore the French Polynesia; a newly trending charter location. Part of a circumnavigation, stay tuned in the coming weeks as we look to bring you snippets from the 49m Trinity's voyage to locations around the world.

Finally, we noted the intriguing sale of 55m Heesen Project Antares before today heading to Viareggio. With hope to bring you news from the Tuscan marina, where the opening of the Versilla Show is the first culmination of Italian pedigree and one we look forward to seeing progress over the weekend. Don’t forget to keep posted over on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. Ciao for now!
