An incredible piece of news has emerged right before the dawn of the Monaco Yacht Show next week as Moran Yacht & Ship confirm the sale of the 112 metre superyacht project with Lürssen Yachts.

This project is the just one of the big pieces of news to present itself before the show, and with more to come the 112 metre design by Andrew Winch will act as a representation of the movement which occurs in September and the months running up to it.

Dubbed Project Palo Alto, this superyacht was commissioned for a long-time charter client of Moran Yacht & Ship, who has over the past seven years, chartered some of the largest and highest quality motor yachts in the world; clearly only giving the owner a taste of what ownership can offer.

“This project will be the largest yacht to date that Moran Yacht & Ship has built at Lurssen,” explains President of MY&S Rob Moran. “We are excited to be involved in such a great project with such a fantastic team. We look forward to yet another on time and under budget delivery while maintaining the highest quality standard; the Moran Yacht & Ship standard.”

Project Palo Alto is a milestone for Moran Yacht & Ship and yet another incredible project for the Lurssen Yachts order book.

Speaking of a milestone, this will be Superyachts.com’s fifth edition of the Breaking News Centre at the Monaco Yacht Show. It’s funny to think that in 2010 the team and I only had a small space at the edge of the show (in the shadow of superyacht Nero) in which to conduct exclusive video interviews with the biggest names in the superyacht industry. As time went by, we continued to grow and now we will be presenting the biggest and best version of the centre we’ve ever created in conjunction with our partners at the Monaco Yacht Show.

Working with a legion of huge collaborators, we’re expecting to cover every angle of the Monaco Yacht Show, the superyacht industry and the world surrounding the luxury yachting lifestyle.

The time for talking about the Monaco Yacht Show is at an end, and with only a weekend between us and the most revered superyacht exhibit in the world, we’re looking forward to returning to Port Hercules and delivering the latest information straight from the docks.

Make sure you sign up to our daily newsletter which will have everything from breaking news to luxury destination discussions, keep an eye on the home page for up-to-the-minute updates and yacht features or come by our stand to say hi and see the Breaking News Centre in action.
