Editors Comments: Week Ending 20/06/2014
This week’s notes come to you from the stunning backdrop of St Kitts, and I am here delivering news from the site of the future Christophe Harbour Superyacht Marina thanks to the team who are planning on creating the next superyacht destination.
As St Kitts moves its economic focus from agriculture to tourism, I have the good fortune to witness a major turning point in the future of the island. Christophe Harbour is being built to welcome over 300 yachts, 60 of which are part of the world’s largest legion of yachts with a 300’ maximum LOA.
The people behind the harbour have shown us how the transformation of the region will play a big part in the evolution of St Kitts’ approach to tourism by attracting superyachts from across the world; and it’s easy to see how this can be achieved.
The crystalline blue waters and island lifestyle are enough to bring tourists flocking from around the world, but it’s Christophe Harbour that will be appealing to the global elite. With high-end properties and unbelievable real estate on display, alongside a challenging golf course with untouched views, the superyacht marina will add an entirely new dimension to the Caribbean paradise that is St Kitts.
Superyachts.com has been working hard to promote the Bahamas as a luxury yachting destination as the Caribbean has the natural beauty rarely found anywhere else. St Kitts is by no means an exception to this beauty, quiet, awe-inspiring and cultured. Many thanks to the owner Buddy Darby and his team for their hospitality in showing me everything this remarkable place has to offer - and giving me a glimpse into its exciting future.
There'll be more to come from St Kitts but in the meantime, there's been plenty of developments inthe superyacht world this week and we've brought you the best of it in today's newsletter. We kick things off with big news from Horizon Yachts who have announced the sale of the 46-metre motoryacht Project Margarita.
Enjoy our newsletter and, until next time, have a great week.
