Editor's Note: Shows, Superyachts & Sea Trials

The largest yachts in the world are some of the most incredible feats of marine engineering ever created, and with superyachts such Sailing Yacht A and Aquarius returning from sea trials, it’s easy to forget the surrounding movements which illustrated an exciting week.

This week, we were lucky enough to be invited into the inner workings of Latitude 365, a revolutionary finance and accounting system which works with Captains and Management Offices to seamlessly and safely simplify the entire financial management of a superyacht.

After opening a 138 metre berth, one of the largest in Europe, Port Denia gave us a fantastic look into the latest offerings in South-East Spain as the country enters into an exciting new phase. This new state-of-the-art marina in Denia offers a home for both owners and crew to berth, refit and maintain yachts while making the most of the amenities built for life in one of the most discussed cruising grounds to date.

On the topic of marinas, a new initiative arrived this week from BWA Yachting surrounding a first-class marina development in Miami. One Island Park is a superyacht marina designed for owners, by the experts behind the world’s foremost marine service brand.

America itself is one of the biggest contributors to industry activity, with some of the most exciting projects on the boards and in the yards sparked by American owners. Next month will provide a platform for that activity, as the 2016 Fort Lauderdale Boat Show opens its doors to a showcase of superyachts that no marina can match in terms of sheer volume.

I’ll be on the docks once more and taking a look at the industry in one of the most interesting, vibrant and potentialy turbulent times in U.S. yachting market history.
