Editors Comments: Week Ending - 15/08/2014
This week we’ve taken a close look into the Monaco Yacht Show, a world revered superyacht exhibition which is nearing its grand opening day. Taking place on the 24th of September, this edition of the exhibit will be the 24th in a history of rapid growth and extremely notable success.
Our first look into the show this week has focussed on the continued expansion of the show, allowing 115 of the finest superyachts on the market into Port Hercules as part of the industry’s biggest event of the year.
"The upcoming edition will be really special to us this year,” explains Gaelle Tallarida, Managing Director of MYS. “Indeed, we've given the 2014 MYS a new direction in its positioning, more centred on the end clientele. As the yacht show is known to be the first superyacht gathering in the world, it has de facto the responsibility to represent and thus promote a whole industry among ship owners and future yacht purchasers”.
We then took a look into the largest yachts set to exhibit at the 2014 as a preview, and we discovered that amongst the 40 new launches coming to the show some exciting names are currently set to attend. Oceanco are currently headlining in regards to the largest yacht as information has emerged which could mean the recently launched 91.50m Equanimity will be at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show.
Of course this is a speculative look into her attendance, but joining her will be the confirmed attendance of Athena, Solandge, Cakewalk and Grace E amongst a legion of new launches, large yachts and stunning vessels of all ranges. However this show is growing closer by the day and the Superyachts.com & MYS Breaking News Centre will be returning and with it a wealth of interviews with the biggest representatives of the superyacht industry.
