Editor's Note: Explorer Style & Spring Charter
April is about to give way for one of the most glamorous and sought-after months on the charter calendar, filled with adventure, excitement and glamour.
After the brokerage fraternity descended on Barcelona for the inaugural MYBA Pop-up at OneOcean Port Vell - which is yet another footnote in the rapid expansion of the Spanish city - it’s time to look to May and the exciting opportunities ahead.
The Cannes Film Festival will make its mark once again in May as the global elite descends on the Cote d’Azure to screen the latest cinematic gems and revel in the epitome of luxury living. The superyachts on the water during the Cannes Film Festival is a playground at anchor, and we took a closer look at the yachts still available for those plotting a last minute charter.
Shortly after Cannes is the world-revered Monaco Grand Prix, where an amphitheatre of road-side seats and aft decks loom over the famous track where champions are made. We’ll be looking into the yachts available for charter next week, continuing our celebration of charter as the summer dawns and the sun emerges.
Adding to the excitement this year is the America's Cup, which is taking place in a matter of weeks and will undoubtedly bring a world of yachting activity to the often overlooked shores of Bermuda.
If 2017's calendar has you thinking of stepping on board, or if you just need inspiration for a future cruise? Check out the latest in our ongoing Interior Insights series as we focus on the breath-taking simplicity behind the adventure of Cloudbreak, and the sports-luxe style of Okto.
Other news around the world has kept coming as the brokerage community continues to work hard and bring the superyacht experience to those seeking escape, as launches and refits have peppered the news over the last seven days.
AMELS closed last week with the launch of Lily, while Turquoise Yachts presented their latest superyacht on the water, Razan, to its owner. We took an extensive look into the refit of St. David, and Balk Shipyard re-introduced a rebuilt explorer to the waters of Holland.
If April’s exciting activity was anything to go by, I’m looking forward to bringing you more updates across May and, in the meantime, get in touch with me here or via our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.
