Editor's Note: The Return of Showcase Season
With the close of August within reach, it’s finally time to launch into September with all cylinders firing. Cannes will be upon us soon, the Porto Montenegro Pop-up Superyacht Show is on the schedule and, of course, the Monaco Yacht Show is ever looming. This is a month that offers a platform to divulge, disclose and distribute the biggest announcements of the year, and something which is threatening to keep us all very busy.
For those who subscribe to my notes, you’ll know that secrecy weighs heavily on me this year as we work tirelessly to bring you something different. With that in mind, I’m heading back to Italy next week to produce the final phases of a project I can proudly add to the reveals this September.
Speaking of which, we began our month-long look at the Monaco Yacht Show fleet with the I NOVA explorer this week. Monaco is in the spotlight of the entire industry, with a world of experts and revolutionaries slowly showing their hand in terms of new arrivals, updates and announcement teasers. The gradual unveiling of the fleet itself being one of the most exciting of the year.
The Monaco Yacht Show added to that by giving us an insight into its position as a valuable variable in the sales process; unveiling estimates and figures that show up to 17.5% of yachts participating in the show are often sold around 100 days following. Albeit, not directly linked given the somewhat fluid nature of sales itself.
With an eye already on fleets, we also brought you an insight into the progressive fleet of WIDER Yachts this week; delivering the key details of the 130, 150 and 165 that set the Italian-builder apart in terms of style and technology.
We’re already underway and back to our usual tricks creating a roster of interviews for the Monaco Yacht Show Breaking News Centre like no other, to name just one big return initiative.
