Editor's Note: Crossing the Adriatic

Filming across the superyacht hotspots, industrial hearts and creative capitals of Italy was an insight I am honoured to have experienced. With weeks of discussions, catch ups and tours of discovery across Rome, La Spezia, Ancona, Fano and Viareggio, the time has come to leave Italy behind, tackle the Adriatic and head to Montenegro for the third annual MYBA Pop-up Show.

Croatia and Montenegro are extremely up and coming regions for charter, with Montenegro in the clear forefront given its incredible approach to attracting yacht owners, captains and charter guests.

Its geographical and political position outside the EU, but very much included in the wonderland of cruising areas, means this is an exciting place for the future of how, and where people cruise.

Porto Montenegro itself is a stunning development building on the beauty of a natural landmark, so it goes without saying that I'm looking forward to bringing you updates from the docks.

I’ve been keeping a close eye on global updates as I travel, and was very happy to deliver the news of Benetti’s latest sale. The FB 276 came from the drawing boards of Giorgio M. Cassetta, a design studio whom I seem to have only just left after departing from Rome, and a team who are rapidly growing in terms of skill and portfolio.

Feadship provided their latest addition to the explorer fleet recently which became a focal new addition for the media. This beautifully styled, and seemingly organically inspired project was launched for the world of exploration under the water and, given my predeliction for explorers, a boat I look forward to seeing in the flesh one day.

Still, time is tight and the Cannes and Monaco Yacht Shows wait for no one. The Superyachts.com team is busy working to bring you the exclusive updates and insights of the Breaking News Centre once again and, in the meantime, I'll be looking into upcoming fleets on display and global announcements across September's Showcase Season.

If you think we're missing something, or you want to send us shots from on deck, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me here; alternatively, you can keep up to date with us across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
