Editor’s Note: A Week in Perspective
Following three months of travel with our film crew, I’m back in the office this week amidst an initiative to help superyachts gain access to the BVI and provide vital aid. I’m proud to be part of an industry with the power to make a difference, however small, and on behalf of the team here in London I’d like to thank everyone who picked up the phone to get in touch.
We’re working with some of the key players in the superyacht industry, and if you want to help us spread the message and reach out to Owners, Captains and Crew in the position to provide communications, water, food and medical aid for those in the BVI; please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us on +44 (0) 7954 745554 for round the clock assistance or click here to find out more.
In the meantime, the MYBA Pop-up Show in Porto Montenegro (pictured) has kept me busy with an insightful and illustrative few days learning about the rise of the East Mediterranean superyacht hub. The few days on the docks of Porto Montenegro gave us a chance to visit Captains, talk about new initiatives bringing more yachts to the waters and explore the region itself. To watch our round-up of the show, click here.
We’re still working to cut together our latest video projects, and look forward to bringing you a teaser very soon. All the while news from the industry has started to get me very excited for our discussions at the Breaking News Centre in Monaco.
ICON Yachts came to fore today with the news of Sanaborg, a former Dutch ice breaker set to be reborn as Ragnar, a medieval inspired explorer with undeniably aggressive style. Having been to the yard in recent weeks and seeing Sanaborg for myself, I can honestly say this is one of the most exciting projects on the adventure spectrum alongside the SeaXplorer and REV.
AMELS has also had a spate of new updates with a new 188 sold and the exclusive insight we gained from Laura Pomponi into the DAGA Project. Having walked us through the interior, and exterior, of her new project, the Founder of Luxury Projects introduced us to a new world on board an extremely customisable design which you can find here.
As Monaco approaches, more news will emerge from across the industry and I can not wait to once again step on the docks of Port Hercules and bring you everything we can, as we report a second-by-second play of the biggest show in the world. Until next time.
