Editor's Note: The View from a Changing Landscape

To say the industry is changing is an ambiguous statement to say the least, but something backed up in its entirety by the conversations underway during day two of the Monaco Yacht Show, and another amazing day at the Breaking News Centre.

The announcements shared at the centre have included the sales of new projects, the launch of new concepts and the introduction of new ideas; however, the barometre of industry change is why we do what we do.

Chris Cecil Wright spoke to us about the introduction of Cryptocurrency, while builders such as Westport and Fincantieri helped us check the pulse of new build. 

Oceanco was one of the key builders of the day, offering us a chance to step on the largest yacht at the show and providing a more relaxed view on the new projects underway at the Dutch shipyard.

Designers like Nuvolari Lenard and Giorgio M. Cassetta (to name but a few) offered insights into new projects and changing demands, with full insights coming soon as we work to bring you more insights come the morning.

The designers offering insight into the change I so vaguely mentioned were, of course, Espen Oeino and Andrew Winch, who shone a light on the increased call for simplicity, and the genuine desire for the ultimate stripped-back family home.

Needless to say it’s been a busy day for everyone in Monaco, and with dinners, parties and events going on across Port Hercules, the sun descends on yet another successful day of the Monaco Yacht Show.
