Editor's Notes: Day Two Of The Monaco Yacht Show

You don’t get to see a lot of the show when you’re attached so firmly to the Breaking News Centre, but unfortunate as it is, the beauty of the studio is that the news comes to you. We’ve had so many people visit us again today and I would like to offer my thanks to them all.

I’ve had some fantastic conversations today and it reminds me exactly what this whole show is about, it’s an organic collection of the finest brands in the superyacht industry and, subsequently, a fantastic barometer for the future of the industry.

Consensus is beginning to take the form of not only ‘excitement’ (which is word I’m clearly over-using at the moment) but an acceptance of a new normal. Strength is returning, not everywhere, but where it seems to be counting. More and more people are noting America to be a strong contender for the market candidate providing the most activity while charter and sailing are finding their own growth stream this year.

The update I’ve been most enthusiastic about is the new Amels SeaXplorer, a truly ground-breaking range which speaks to the adventurer within. I won’t do it any justice here, but I can only implore you to watch the video with Victor Caminada who can explain it far better than I can.

This isn’t to take away from our other interviewees however, who are arriving in droves and honouring us with announcements and explanations of movements which will one day define 2015. It’s another busy day tomorrow so I won’t ramble, but as always, keep an eye on Superyachts.com for more information every day.
