Editor's Notes: Day One of the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show

Today marked the start of the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show, a celebratory year for the organisation as it celebrates 25 years of furthering annual industry activity. This is a show which buzzes from the moment the doors opening until after dark, and the industry faces that have joined us in the Breaking News Centre have given us a view on the excitement behind the 2015 edition.

It’s been a remarkable day of interviewing, yacht filming and catching up with old friends as we traipse the blue carpet once more. Last night saw key members of industry influence flock to Salles des Etoilles for the second annual MYS Awards Gala as well as the acknowledgement of the stunning yachts taking part in the fleet of 120 at the port.

This morning, as the light shone on the yachts and the wind settled down, suits, dresses, logos and lanyards all took to the dock to meet and greet as well as announce some incredible news to the world’s press.

The Breaking News Centre today hosted an exclusive interview with Robert Moran, who has sold a new 139+ project dubbed Redwood. Not only does this illustrate the buoyancy of the American market but the success of Moran moving forward with 10 yachts under construction.

Be sure to keep an eye on the homepage as more interviews emerge, as we’ve interviewed the likes of Blohm + Voss, Perini Navi, Feadship, Lurssen, Oceanco, IYC, Espen Oeino, Amels (who have some very exciting announcements arriving online soon), Nobiskrug, Fraser, Camper & Nicholsons as well as the governing body of the Bahamas. Until tomorrow!
