Editor's Note: Happy New Year from Superyachts.com

This is the final piece of writing I’ll publish for 2015, a strange and sentimental statement but one that comes with a sense of excitement at the renewal of a new year. It’s nothing but an obvious claim that a lot has happened across the last 364 days, but with it came a gauge on what’s to come and where the industry stands today.

Positivity across global markets, as well as individual segments such as new build, brokerage and charter, is the resounding notion attached to ‘15. After travelling around the world to speak to experts in every field, we’ve taken a firm snapshot of the current state of the market in over 100 interviews filmed in locations across France, Monaco, China and America.

You can view all of our interviews by clicking here, however if you’re registered to our weekly newsletters, you’ll also see the most popular stories of 2015 organised in no particular order. These stories, covering the largest launches to the biggest industry announcements are just another view through the looking glass of the '15 superyacht community.

However, there was one story this year which captured the hearts and minds of our readers in such an incredible way, I would be remiss not to mention it here. The actions of superyacht Dragonfly in Vanuatu was the strongest, most exclusive and inspirational story I have ever written.

After speaking with Captain Mike Gregory earlier this year, I was delivered an exclusive video filmed by the crew capturing their efforts after Cyclone Pam struck the region and left nothing but catastrophe behind. If you do anything before the end of year, if you haven’t seen the incredible work of the Dragonfly crew, I implore you, click here.

We’re all busy - in our respective homes thanks to the holidays and rain - preparing for the upcoming Top 100 and we’ll start the year with yet another unique insight into the superyacht world in January with our short Top 100 Documentary.

Thank you all for your support, your time and your readership. We hope the year has been as successful for you as we believe it’s been for us, and here’s to one incredible year coming up. From myself, and the team at Superyachts.com, Happy New Year.
