Editor's Notes: Shifting Focus To Turquoise

Turquoise - both the yard and the yacht - has been something of a focus for us this week after we spoke to her central agents at Cecil Wright about how this incredible vessel came into existence.

A high profile example of exceptional design, naval architecture and construction, Turquoise was recently renewed by the Port Denia shipyard and stands as just one shining light in the Turquoise Yachts fleet.

Built in 2011, Turquoise is a rare example of a motor yacht from world-renowned naval architects Dubois, better known for their sailing yachts, and London-based studio H2 who created the internal atmosphere.

We caught up with Chris Cecil-Wright and broker Henry Smith to find out more about the vision behind this esteemed vessel and its new-found home on the brokerage market. You can read the full transcript in our newsletter or by clicking here.

In other news this week, we report on the launch of the latest AMELS 180 which has hit the water in the Netherlands, while Amico & Co are nearing completion on the largest superyacht refit project in the company’s history.

There’s also a full round-up of the largest superyachts to feature at the 2016 Palm Beach Boat Show currently taking place in Florida, while the Dynamiq D4 39 motor yacht is edging ever closer to its launch.

Meanwhile Bilgin are preparing to launch their second 47-metre superyacht, West Nautical have added the 73-metre motor yacht Vicky to its charter fleet, and Y.CO have announced a new partnership with global private members' club Quintessentially.

I've been travelling with the diligent boys from the Superyachts.com film team this week in preparation for something truly exciting, so attempting to keep my cards close to the chest, I'll leave you with that cliffhanger for the week. Until next time.
