Editor's Note: The Breaking News Center Returns
Following last night’s 3rd annual Gala Award Ceremony, this morning marked the 6th opening of the Superyachts.com Breaking News Center at Port Hercules and of course, day 1 of the 26th annual Monaco Yacht Show.
With the year-long anticipation of the event at an all-time high, Monaco welcomed the industry with it’s extensive exhibition space and ever-charming backdrop of the Côte d'Azur. Meanwhile, over 120 superyachts and 40 luxury tenders collected to enjoy over 500 displays from the most important people in the industry.
For Superyachts.com, this year was particularly exciting, marking the launch of our first ever print publication, In Depth magazine. The concept was an entirely new one for the team, and amongst sleepless nights, has resulted in an end-product which we are more than proud to show off this year, alongside our supporters from the British Virgin Islands. The magazine acts as a guide to the Islands as a luxury travel destination for superyachts in particular, and we invite you to pick up a copy and discover this Caribbean location in all its glory.
When we’re not writing for print, however, we’re working on gathering the most influential people in the industry to chat to us in our Breaking News Center at MYS where those we interview, some returning year after year, reveal exclusively their newest ventures and discuss with us in detail, the highlights of the past year. Today, we had the pleasure of talking with designers such as Espen Oenio about current trends, from outdoor kitchens to explorer yachts designed for Icelandic exploration. Whilst on the other side, we chatted to Peter Lurssen and about building the biggest yachts in the business, and Perini Navi following the launch of their largest sailing yacht, Sybaris, to name but a few.
As always, the first day of the show draws to a close complete with the air of excitement still lingering in anticipation for what’s to come in the following days. As we near the weekend, we look forward to inviting more influencers into our news centre and bringing you the latest news on Superyachts.com.
