Editor's Note: Insights into Exploration
Exploration is an ongoing conversation in the Superyachts.com office; fuelled by new expedition projects and a shifting spotlight on understated destinations. In fact, adventure has become something of a defining factor for us as a team as work continues on our new InDepth publications, the film team and I continue to travel, and each week in news delivers insights into the next up and coming names in exploration.
Burgess Yachts unveiled one of those names this week by delivering a closer look at the latest explorer project underway at the AES shipyard, Days.
A project which captures the essence of modern exploration, the rough, rugged and timelessly stylish superyacht is now a part of their agency, and something we can’t wait to see hit the water in 2018 alongside other fascinating globally-capable projects.
Shifting to destinations, we placed Barcelona in the spotlight this week as we took a closer look at exactly what makes this - like the explorer market - a topic of discussion which doesn’t seem to stop in terms of growth, excitement and demand.
The hustle and bustle of the city recently welcomed the first MYBA Pop-up and the Barcelona Formula 1, which not only sparked the start of summer in the region - which is rapidly growing in popularity - but provided the perfect platform to find out why the superyacht community is flocking to Spain.
Elsewhere, after seeing the hive of activity that was the Monaco Grand Prix, I can’t help but be 'that' person who brings up the Monaco Yacht Show almost three months too early.
The Monaco Yacht Show, after all, is where Superyachts.com pioneered its first initiative with the Breaking News Centre, and will so again this year. As always, bigger and better than ever before.
In the meantime, I’ll be setting my sights on Italy as we prepare to visit the region next week to gather insights into the world of Italian yachting. To say any more would give the game away somewhat, but as always, expect more from us in the very near future.
Until then, I’d love to hear from you in terms of news, photos and updates; so if you have anything you think we’re missing or some shots from on board, get in touch with me here or check out our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram feeds.
