The large yacht building sector has made a strong impression on the fledgling year this week after four large yachts emerged and went some way to change the face of the Top 100 shortly after our launch in London.

Shortly after announcing the recent launch of Savannah, the world’s largest hybrid motor yacht, Feadship reported that the final phases of construction has begun on the 101.50m motor yacht - the largest yacht built to Feadship to date - after being moved out of the yard.

Abeking & Rasmussen also joined the fold by launching the long-awaited DARTWO, an 81.8m motor yacht which left the yard in Germany and entered into 94th position within the Top 100.

Oceanco’s Y710 underwent her delivery this week and was christened Infinity. After taking a trip to the yard in Alblasserdam late last year, we witnessed this stunning vessel sat outside the Oceanco offices and look forward to learning more about her career on the water in the coming months.

Heesen joined the fold after announcing the launch of the 50m superyacht Sibelle this week. The launch may have taken place at the very close of 2014, however this yacht is a fantastic addition to the week in news.

The Miami Yacht & Brokerage Show will be taking place next week and we look forward to bringing you the latest interviews and updates emerging stateside.
