Editors Comments: Week Ending 05/06/2015
We’ve taken a close look at some of the finest yachts of recent times this week. Once the most exclusive and secretive launches, now active vessels enjoying the world’s oceans, we gained an in-depth insight into the on board lifestyle of Vica, the Arcadia 115 and Amel’s iconic superyacht Event.
We started the week with the 50m superyacht Vica, launched by Benetti earlier this year, and while this may be one of Benetti’s finest (not to mention first ever Hybrid) superyachts, it’s the class and elegance on board which seizes the eye.
If trend were a stronger influence on the superyacht design and build society, it could be said that something understated and unconventional is what holds demand these days; and Vica is a close representation of that vision.
Built for the Mediterranean, this luxury yacht is setting up Benetti for the future launch of it’s largest yachts to date and illustrates that the Italian builder will always be part of the global elite of mid-large range superyacht builders.
After signing the superyacht exclusively for sale, Imperial Yachts also allowed us a closer look at the iconic Amels superyacht Event.
Launched in 2013, this is not exactly a new yacht, but the AMELS 199 is believed to be a respective plateau of both skill and style for the Amels and Tim Heywood tour de force and holds sentimental pride for the builder and creator.
Arcadia Yachts announced the sale of their fourth hull in the Arcadia 115 range this week and, in celebratory fashion, released a number of incredible photos which allowed us to see the 115 range at work on the water and looking as cutting-edge and elegant as we all expect from Arcadia.
While mainline news has also found its way to fore, I’ve greatly enjoyed taking a look into the lifestyle on board these yachts for both existing and potential owners alike. Updating news from across an entire industry can often take your eye off the ball in regards to the final product and exactly why the superyachting structure exists.
In the coming weeks you can expect a lot more of our Master Class series to emerge focussing on the world of design and interior styling, so check back with us for exclusive insights on board the world’s finest yachts and interviews with revered designers across the industry.
