Editors Comments: Week Ending - 11/09/2015
We’re back in the office after a week in Sardinia watching some of the finest on-the-water action we’ve seen through a lens, and we’re still getting over the last day’s competition of the Perini Navi Cup.
You know the story by now, high-winds and limit-pushing crewmanship created a crescendo last week which put the first two days racing to shame. Stories of broken spinnakers, heeling which forced propellers out of the water and leeward rails being submerged to the windows, are just some of the highlights. I can’t implore you to watch the footage enough.
I would like to personally thank the Perini Navi Group for offering us the opportunity to see these sights in our own way as well as looking after us for a whole week. We would also like to thank everyone who spoke to us on camera, allowed us to attach GoPros to odd positions across each yacht and offered extra footage from the decks to make our viewpoint completely unique.
There’s a lot more footage from the Perini Navi Cup which is on it’s way, as we’ve collected so many incredible shots, and have a lot more interviews and viewpoints to cover. However, time stands still for no man (or woman) and it’s time to start looking at the Monaco Yacht Show - the longest running tradition in the Superyachts.com calendar with our sixth Breaking News Centre set to return in grand style.
We’re going to be offering up a lot of sneak peeks into the upcoming show alongside a series of guides and updates surrounding the show which is gearing up to be a milestone in a long-running institution in yachting. Until then, all I can say is stay tuned.
