Editor's Note: Week Ending 20/11/2015
Two launches of two different natures took place this week proving that even with the holidays looming, there’s no stop for the industry.
Lürssen, who are playing their cards close to their chest in traditional fashion, launched the 156 metre superyacht Project Omar which is widely believed to be the incarnation of Dilbar; a stable Top 100 yacht which has now been reincarnated in a new addition to the world’s largest yacht rankings.
You can read the brief of the launch here, however this launch is adding gravity to both the current listings and the upcoming Top 100 event hosted by Superyachts.com and Y.CO in January.
However, while Lürssen Yachts launched an ocean-going giant this week, Heesen also added to the week in news as they announced the launch of the extremely high-performance Amore Mio.
Albeit on the other end of the size spectrum, this stunning example of cutting edge design is the latest in a long portfolio for Heesen. This is a performance yacht with not only power but also sophistication is what makes Amore Mio so special and sets her apart from every other sportster. The motto is simple: power with comfort.
On every level, inside and on deck, this yacht has been designed to provide the very rare combination of space, speed, style and safety; and while this may be the aim of most builders, this is a brand who have achieved this through self-sustained research into the cutting-edge.
In other news, the China Rendez-Vous is taking place next week and Superyachts.com is gearing up for the longest flight in the annual calendar in order to deliver an in-depth insight into exactly what is happening across the Asian yachting landscape.
Until then, you can take a look at our most recent trip to the Florida Keys as we looked into the fishing community, the superyacht lifestyle and the luxury locations surrounding Faro Blanco - a new and upcoming yacht club and marina - during the first annual Faro Blanco Rendez-Vous.
