Editor's Note: Week Ending 27/11/2015
The memories of last year’s China Rendez-Vous are still fresh in the mind, yet here we are again on the eve of the next instalment of this remarkable showcase of the yachting and luxury lifestyle.
The country that they call the Red Dragon will be hoping to fire new life into a economy that was hit by a major stock market crash earlier this year – and judging by the vibrancy of last year’s edition, it would surprise no-one if it achieves just that.
Superyachts.com will be reporting exclusively from the show, so be sure to check in with us over the coming days for the very latest updates, as well as filmed interviews with all of the exhibitors, from what has become one of the standout occasions on our calendar.
Inevitably, the focus of this week’s newsletter falls on China, with two full previews of the show. But there’s also been plenty of news elsewhere to report, including a number of significant developments in the world of yacht sales.
Particularly noteworthy has been the announcement that Imperial Yachts have sold the spectacular Amels 199 superyacht Event, while Benetti have also grabbed attention with the sale of the first unit of its Mediterraneo 116’.
If that’s not enough selling activity for your tastes, Y.CO have announced the sale of Unfurled, a 34-metre sailing yacht built by Royal Huisman in 2000, while IYC have confirmed that the 43-metre motoryacht Tabarakallah is now for sale.
Finally, we report on Dutch shipyard Moonen who have recently announced a strong recovery after a turbulent period, plus a high profile awards ceremony in Amsterdam for the boat building industry that saw Azimut|Benetti owner Paulo Vitelli pick up a prestigious gong.
We look forward to bringing you all the news from China; as always, our duty and our pleasure.
